Iran Attacked Kuwait Airport, Start Fires in Bahrain and UAE

On Wednesday, Iranian drones attacked fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport and caused a fire. Things are getting really bad between the US, Israel and Iran. Three countries in the Gulf including Kuwait, Bahrain and UAE, were hit at the time in the morning.

People who work at Kuwait airport said Iranian drones and their friends hit the fuel storage area and it was very hard for firefighters to put out the fire. Luckily nobody got hurt at the airport. The fire made it hard for the airport to work like it normally does.

In Bahrain, a building caught fire after another attack that people think was done by drones according to the country’s Interior Ministry. Firefighters went to put out the fire, which officials said was caused by Iran being aggressive.

The worst thing that happened was in the UAEs Fujairah emirate, where a piece of a downed drone killed a worker from Bangladesh who was taking care of crops. The authorities have not said the workers name. People who live there say he was working in the fields when he got hit.

A cruise missile also hit a tanker near Qatar’s Ras Laffan port. Damaged the ship. All 21 people on the ship were taken off safely.

The person who speaks for Kuwait airport Abdullah Al-Rajhi said the attack on the airport was very bold. He said this on TV and on the official news agency KUNA. “Kuwait International Airport was clearly attacked by drones sent by Iran and the groups it supports” he said.

Bahrain also said they do not like the attack and the UAE quickly said that Iranian citizens could not enter or travel through the country. Big airlines like Emirates, Etihad and FlyDubai updated their websites to show the rules.

These attacks happened on the day of the US and Israel’s action against Iran, which started on February 28. US President Donald Trump said that Gulf countries are “100% on our side” and are “fighting back well.” He thinks the fighting could end “in two weeks or maybe a day or two more.”

Iran has said it does not want to stop fighting and thinks the ideas for a ceasefire are not fair. Iran wants money for the damage caused by US and Israeli attacks inside its borders.

The attacks have made people worried about the safety of ships that carry oil and other important things in the Persian Gulf, which’s a very important place for oil. People who watch the oil market are already nervous. They think that if the fighting keeps going it could make the price of oil go up.
